About the Role

We're looking for a Design Advisor Team Lead to join us at our new store in the heart of Amstelveen - just south of Amsterdam, in one of the Netherlands' top-rated shopping destinations.

This is a hands-on, player-coach role. You'll spend a meaningful part of your time on the floor as a Design Advisor yourself, and the rest leading, coaching, and getting the best out of a small team of Design Advisors. If you're passionate about design, love helping people create beautiful, functional spaces, and enjoy building and developing a team that does the same, this role is for you.

You'll connect the world of Tylko's innovative furniture solutions with the real needs of our customers, delivering expert advice and a personalised experience built on creativity and technology. As Team Lead, you'll set the standard for what a great visit to our store feels like - making sure every customer leaves inspired, better informed, and more connected to the Tylko brand, and helping your team deliver that same experience consistently.

What you'll do:

On the floor, as a Design Advisor:

• Provide professional service and personalised design advice and product recommendations

• Introduce customers to the world of Tylko in an accessible, engaging way: from furniture and material personalisation, through R&D innovation, to our sustainability efforts

• Guide customers through our digital furniture configurator so they can create pieces tailored to their needs

• Engage a diverse mix of customers - from first-time browsers to interior enthusiasts and occasional B2B clients - and adapt your approach accordingly

• Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with the Tylko brand identity

• Gather customer feedback and share insights with HQ and our R&D teams

As Team Lead:

• Lead, coach, and motivate a small team of Design Advisors, supporting their day-to-day development and growth

• Help organise shift planning and ensure smooth daily store operations

• Own the store's sales and quality targets alongside the team, keeping customer satisfaction at the centre

• Act as the link between the Amstelveen store and HQ, sharing on-the-ground insights and helping shape our offline retail strategy

What we're looking for:

• A passion for design, furniture, and architecture, backed by studies or genuine personal interest

• Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch

• The ability to explain technical product details in a simple, engaging, and enthusiastic way

• Openness and confidence with customers: quickly building trust, understanding needs, and giving thoughtful design advice

• First experience leading or mentoring others, or a clear drive to step into a team-lead role

• Comfort with digital tools such as a product configurator and CRM system

• A collaborative, team-first mindset

• A proactive approach and a bias for taking initiative

• Enthusiasm for working with innovative products and creating exceptional customer experiences

Important: Previous customer-facing experience (retail, showroom, hospitality, or services) is a plus but not required. What matters is that you genuinely enjoy working with people and want to be their trusted partner in the design process.
